Ativan (lorazepam) is an efficient treatment for anxiety disorders. It can be combined with other drugs by your health care provider for other conditions. However, you should never combine this medicine with other treatments without previously talking to your doctor. Take Ativan exactly as recommended by your health care provider. Do not exceed the dose recommended as it can lead to unpredictable consequences. Older patients may be more sensitive to the effects of Ativan. If you are older than 50 your doctor may adjust your dosage or recommend being especially careful to avoid falling or getting an injury while taking this medicine. The following health conditions must be reported to your doctor before you start taking Ativan: kidney or liver disease, asthma, glaucoma, bronchitis, bronchitis, a history of drug addiction or suicidal thoughts.
